Psyllium Husk Fibre by F.A. Nutrition is a revolutionary product that adds fibre to your diet. It is specially designed for people who want to lose weight and do away with digestive disorders. In accordance with recommendation from the World Health Organization (OMS), the daily intake of fibre for an adult should be 27-40g. Psyllium Husk seeds (also known as plantago seeds) contain some mucilage that swell when ingested with sufficient water and by increasing their volume (from 10 to 15 times the original volume), they help activate the intestinal function and facilitate defecation thanks to the faeces becoming softer. In the event of constipation, they have a purging effect.
Compared with other purging foods such as wheat bran and linseed, psyllium husk seeds are characterised by the fact that the formation of intestinal gases is notably reduced. Psyllium Husk Fibre helps reduce hunger, reduces the level of triglycerides and absorption of cholesterol and favours the growth of intestinal flora. Fibre does not increase the calorific value of the meal.
Benefits of consuming fibre in the diet:
- Regulates the level of cholesterol.
- Promotes adequate peristalsis.
- Helps combat obesity.
- Improves liver function.
- Improves digestion.
- Promotes the sensation of satiety.
- Slows down the absorption of carbohydrates.
