Chromium Picolinate by HSN Essentials is a nutritional supplement made of chromium picolinate. It is a combination of the essential mineral chromium and picolinic acid, resulting in one of the most bioavailable forms of chromium for the body.
Chromium is an essential mineral that is necessary for our body to intervene in the metabolism of proteins, fats and carbohydrates, as well as improving insulin sensitivity.
Insulin is a hormone that is synthesized by the pancreas in response to our body detecting the presence of glucose in our bloodstream. It is essential for us to get energy from the nutrients in our diet (carbohydrates). Insulin helps maintain blood sugar (glycemia) and prevents it from becoming too high (hyperglycemia) or too low (hypoglycemia).
