What is Vitamin E 400UI?

Vitamin E by HSN Essential is a food supplement that provides the body with an optimal dose of vitamin E (d-alpha acetate tocopherol) the 100% natural form of this vitamin. It is a fat-soluble vitamin that exerts an important antioxidant function in our organism.

The natural form of vitamin E is doubly active than the synthetic form

What are the properties of Vitamin E?

Vitamin E plays numerous important functions in the body, such as assisting in the formation of red blood cells or helping the organism to use vitamin K. It also helps to dilate blood vessels and to prevent the blood from coagulating within them.

Vitamin E has a powerful antioxidant action that helps to protect against the destruction by oxygen of polyunsaturated fats and other soluble substances in fat such as vitamin A. In this sense it stops the damaging effects of free radicals, that are going to affect the tissues that form our organs and systems, at a cellular level.

As well as protecting red blood cells which are in charge of transporting oxygen to all the cells in the body, it also does so with white blood cells, which defend the organism from certain diseases. Thus it contributes to improving the immune system.

Vitamin E plays an essential role in the hormonal system and in the reproductive organs, and this is why it is known as the “fertility hormone.”

The concentration of vitamin E in the hypophysis, the gland charged with the production and secretion of hormones is 200 times higher than in any other part of the body.

Vitamin E plays a synergic role with different hormones: testosterone, progesterone, gonadotropin ACTH and growth hormone

Benefits of Vitamin E

Reduces cholesterol oxidation

Cholesterol is a natural substance produced by the liver and required by the body for the proper functioning of cells, nerves and hormones. When it oxidizes, it becomes dangerous. The studies have shown that vitamin E acts as a protective antioxidant that fights cholesterol oxidation, because it can neutralize free radicals in the body, which leads to the oxidation of cholesterol.

Repairs damaged skin

Vitamin E helps to strengthen the walls of capillaries in skin and improve hydration and elasticity, as it acts as a natural anti-aging nutrient. Studies have proven that vitamin E helps to reduce inflammation, contributing to maintain a healthy and young skin. These antioxidant properties are also useful when we are exposed to the smoke from cigarettes or ultraviolet rays of light from the sun (helping to protect skin from cancer) as a possible treatment against sun burns. Because it accelerates the regeneration of cells, it can be used to treat scars, acne and wrinkles.

Improves vision

Vitamin E can contribute to the reduction of the risk of age-related macular degeneration, which is a common cause of blindness. For maximum efficiency in this aspect it can be consumed along with Vitamin C, beta carotene and zinc. It has been found that taking high daily doses of Vitamin E and Vitamin A seems to improve healing and vision in people who have subjected to laser eye surgery.

Support for physical recovery

It may exert a positive effect for physical and sport recovery, in the sense of reducing fatigue via oxygenation and nutrient transport, thanks to the fact that improves blood flow. For this reason it also improves endurance training, as it reinforces capillary walls.

Hormonal regulation

Vitamin E can help to carry out a crucial role in the balance of the endocrine system and the nervous system, to be able to maintain hormonal balance, according to several studies. The symptoms of a hormonal unbalance, can include: Premenstrual syndrome, weight gain, allergies, urinary tract infections, skin changes, anxiety and fatigue. By keeping hormones in balance, we can maintain a healthy weight, and for women, a regular menstrual cycle, in addition to boosting a positive energy state, which will stimulate the feeling of well-being.

Deficiency of Vitamin E

Among the causes that cause a vitamin E deficiency we can include a poor nutrition, malabsorption of nutrients, or suffering from some form of disease. Also, a certain part of the population, as can be the case of active people or athletes, need a supplement with an important antioxidant effect. In such a case, the following symptoms may be found due to a vitamin E deficiency:

  • Mild anaemia
  • Disorders related to reproduction and infertility
  • Destruction of red blood cells
  • Skin blemishes
  • Hair wekaness
  • Muscle weakness
  • Slow tissue healing
  • Leg cramps

Who can take Vitamin E?

  • People who wish to cover their recommended daily allowance of Vitamin E.
  • Anyone who wants a natural antioxidant supplement to care for their health.
  • Athletes and people that are subjected to great physical demands.
