What is L-Tyrosine?
L-Tyrosine by HSNraw is a supplement that provides an optimal dose of the L-tyrosine amino acid. It stands out for its role as a neurotransmitter precursor that intervenes and regulates the state of mind and mood, it maintains a state of alertness, helps to fight stress, and influences our behavior positively.
Properties of L-Tyrosine
It is a non-essential amino-acid (it comes from the hydroxylation of phenylalanine, which is another amino-acid), but under certain conditions its synthesis can be hindered, like during stressful periods. In fact, tyrosine can help to fight the symptoms of stress. Remember that the effects of continuously suffering stressful situations can trigger certain pathologies that are seriously harmful for our health.
L-Tyrosine supplementation can be beneficial for athletes since it is directly involved in the dopamine levels and helps to relieve the fatigue and stress caused by intense workouts. Tyrosine is also a precursor of melanin, the dark skin pigment that protects us from the harmful effects of UV rays.
What is L-Tyrosine used for?
Its main uses are:
- Fat loss
- Nootropic function
L-Tyrosine and Fat loss
As it was previously mentioned, Tyrosine is involved in the synthesis of certain hormones which have the ability to promote the use of stored fat or lipolysis. These hormones are called catecholamines, Adrenaline, Noradrenaline and Dopamine, since tyrosine is their precursor by affecting the nervous system. Within this fat loss context, they will grant access to the body's lipid deposits, discharging a large amount of fatty acids into the bloodstream, which will later be oxidized and used as energy.
Catecholamines bind to fatty tissue receptors and signal the release of lipids. These receptors are known as alpha and beta, which will trigger a higher or lower activity of the sensitive hormone lipase (HSL).
With this, we may also observe a thermogenic effect associated to it, as well as increasing the thyroid metabolism . This small gland releases hormones that are in charge of controlling the metabolic functions, such as stimulating the protein synthesis or increasing the rate at which cells use oxygen. Likewise, it determines the metabolism, that is, how fast the body will burn calories to produce energy.
L-Tyrosine and Nootropic
A nootropic is a substance that is capable of improving the cognitive capacity and performance.
If we want to obtain the benefits of this element, it is necessary not to damage its transport system that it shares with other amino acids, such as tryptophan, BCAA's (valine, isoleucine, and leucine), and phenylalanine. Therefore, if there is a high concentration of these, it would be better to take the tyrosine in another moment, when fasting or on an empty stomach before a meal.
The cognitive improvement is related to the ability to cope with stress and fatigue, specially in situations that amplify these factors, such as physical exercise or even tasks that demand a lot of attention and focus. In this way, it will be easier and more comfortable to perform tasks which require concentration or activities of a certain intensity or duration.
Who can benefit from L-Tyrosine?
- Anyone who wants to enrich the diet with the tyrosine amino-acid for cognitive support or to enhance weight loss.
- Anyone who wants to keep a proper hormone and nerve function.
- Advised for people who suffer from stress and mood disorders.

Excellent product

I like to combine it with caffeine when I have more demanding days in terms of work and physical exercise. It does not have flavour, so you can combine it with anything you want, and it dissolves very nicely.

I use it in the morning on an empty stomach and I feel more energised throughout the day and with a better mood. Moreover, it helps you to get an even tan now that summer is getting close.

Good fat-burner

I am currently on a cutting phase and I combine it with caffeine in order to enhance its fat-burning effects. I mix it with my pre-workout and I feel that my performance is improving and I do not feel as tired as before.
