This is a protein formula made of Whey Protein Concentrate with a 70% of pure protein concentration with a very low amount of carbohydrates, barely any fat, and with sodium traces.
Our EvoWhey is a kind of protein with a quick absorption and digestion rate, since it is obtained from whey and separated from Casein, which is a slow absorption protein.
It presents an extraordinary creamy texture and easy dissolution, keeping its delicious flavour. We can choose between 19 different flavours available - in a 2Kg format-.
Evowhey is produced in certified EU laboratories and it is subjected to the quality controls applicable by law, with quality certificates.
Evowhey Protein includes two types of protein to get a greater consistency and to reinforce the product.
- Milk Protein Isolate
- Whey Protein Concentrate Hydrolysate
* Protein calculated in dry matter (nitrogen *6.38).
Protein is the macronutrient par excellence that plays the most important role in order to carry out essential physiological processes in our organism. Among its most important functions we can fin:
- Protein structures synthesis, like muscle tissues forming organs, and supporting other systems such as the creation of enzymes, for hair, nails, bones or connective tissue
- Hormone synthesis, like Insulin, Growth Hormone or Growth Factor
In this way, protein is going to provide support for growth, recovery and an increase in muscle strength, as well as providing an optimal nutrient absorption by the muscle cells. Thus, the body is going to use protein to carry out numerous chemical reactions, which are required in muscle contraction, cardiovascular function, or to keep the immune system in perfect conditions.
When it comes to the analysis of protein, we must take into account two important facts or markers in order to know which protein has a better quality:
- Biological value and PCDAAS
- Complete aminogram
Biological value (Bv) is a term used to measure the quality of a protein through the percentage of protein consumed and absorbed in proportion to how much protein is excreted or eliminated as waste.
The biological value of a protein will tell us the percentage of protein that remains inside the body which will actually be used to enhance protein synthesis.
This product is found at the top of the biological value scale when compared to other protein sources.
PCDAAS or Protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS) is, together with Bv, a different way to measure the quality of a protein, but in this case it is measured by the amino acid requirements by human body and its ability to digest them. It presents a scale from 1 to 0 - therefore, the protein with the best score will be the closer to 1. PCDAAS is a method to measure the quality of a protein source adopted by the FDA (“US Food and Drug Administration”) and the FAO/WHO (“Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations/World Health Organization”).
Evowhey is positioned at the top of PCDAAS scale, in relation to other protein sources.
The position of Whey is first place, which makes it the most optimal protein source in this aspect, while the ones of vegetable origin have the lowest score.
A protein concentrate has its origin in milk, which means that it comes from an animal source. As it was previously shown in the table, it has the best marks in relation to the parameters that measure quality. One of the characteristics that distinguish this protein from the vegetable ones is its amino acid profile.
Our Evowhey protein contains all the amino acids, both essential and non-essential. The protein is made of 22 types of amino acids (which means that the protein is made of chains of amino acids). Among them there is an important group which is known as the essential amino acids and it is integrated by 9 individual blocks. Its relevance lies on the fact that, unlike the rest, these cannot be synthesised by the human body and therefore it is necessary to take them externally.
The Leucine, Valine, and Isoleucine trio form the BCAAs (Branched-chain amino acids).
Histidine is considered to be an essential amino acid during childhood, but not during adulthood.
Evowhey Protein is therefore a Complete Protein since it will supply our organism with the whole amino acid spectrum so that this 'material' is available to develop the related tasks.
Evowhey Protein is a protein made of a 85% Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) along with a 10% of Milk Protein Isolate (MPI) and Whey Protein Concentrate Hydrolysate.
Due to this combination, Evowhey Protein is going to supply in each serving of 30g of protein:
- 70% pure protein
- 5g BCAAs
- 4g Glutamine
Each serving of Evowhey Protein will provide an excellent amount of BCAAs, which are an important amino acids complex with important properties, such as forming about 70% of the skeletal muscle, which at the same time suffer more impact (protein breakdown) due to physical stress. Each serving of Evowhey Protein is going to provide a dose of the amino acid Leucine, which has an important role in protein synthesis. In fact, thanks to Leucine, the physiological pathway called mTOR will be the start up point to enhance new muscle tissue and the whole mechanism implied in this process.
Evowhey Protein is going to supply an excellent intake of Glutamine per serving, which is a 'conditionally essential amino acid'. This means that, under certain circumstances, our body may experience a limitation of its production or maybe it will not meet the requirements. This is directly related to maintaining intense workouts with short breaks and poor recovery. Glutamine intake is going to produce several improvements, specially those regarding the speed of recovery and the maintenance of an optimal recovery state to allow you to get back at training.
Due to the importance of this protein within the field of nutrition, and the fact that Evowhey Protein is a high quality product, we will be able to notice its effects in the following situations:
Someone who wants to improve their physical appearance will focus on a dramatic reduction of body fat. A reduction of calories from the diet will be a key factor for this process, but it must be taken into account that this weight loss should not affect muscle mass. Evowhey Protein will perform an important role in the improvement of physical appearance, by supplying protein (and amino acids) that will complement our diet and help us reduce body fat and maintain muscle mass.
In order to grow muscle mass, it is necessary to provide macronutrients, specially protein. A training routine focused on hypertrophy (growth of new muscle tissues) will be the stimulus that we need, but it will not work on its own. This will have to be supported by a proper rest and a good nutrition. Evowhey Protein will be in charge of providing a high quality protein with a complete amino acid profile necessary for such purpose (essential amino acids).
The recovery phase is the period that begins once we have completed our training. Providing an adequate nutritional relation will be key if we want to shorten recovery time between sessions. Evowhey Protein delivers a high absorption rate protein which is ready to act with a short notice, while adding other important elements (BCAAs and Glutamine) to reconstitute the hormonal balance and reduce muscle damage.
Evowhey Protein will ensure that consumers meet their daily nutritional requirements of protein. In this regard, the first decision will be to know what amount of protein we should consume daily. Overall, if we are sportspeople, our requirements will be higher than the rest of the population, and normally we tend to consider values between:
1.7 - 2.5g of protein per Kg of body weight
Once this requirement is established, it will be time to consider the organisation of the daily meals. A general recommendation would be between 4-6 meals throughout the day, although this can be adjusted according to the needs of each individual. We should associate an equal amount of protein to every meal. Thus, considering the protein intake of Evowhey Protein per serving, and adjusting it to our circumstances, lifestyle, and requirements, we could carry out between 1-4 daily intakes.
Evowhey Protein can become an excellent nutritional tool that will help us achieve our objectives. In relation to the most favourable and recommended moments of consumption, we highlight:
- 1 serving of Evowhey Protein after waking up
- 1 serving of Evowhey Protein before training
- 1 serving of Evowhey Protein after training
- 1 serving of Evowhey Protein between meals
- 1 serving of Evowhey Protein between meals/before going to bed
Each serving of Evowhey Protein can be made of 0.5-2 scoops of Evowhey Protein depending on each person's requirements.
Therefore, it is left under subjective criteria, taking Evowhey Protein in those moments, complementing with a proper nutrition plan.
When consuming Evowhey Protein we have different options, since it is a very versatile product, which means that we can introduce it into our diet through:
- Smoothies with water, milk or other drinks that we may like
- Fruit or vegetable blends
- Mixed with other products, such as yogurts or cheese.
- For the preparation of 'fit' baking - you can see several recipes in Additional Information
