What is Virgin Chestnut Oil?
Virgin Chestnut Oil by NaturGreen is an ecological virgin oil, obtained through a cold pressed pressure (under 40ºC).
Properties of Virgin Chestnut Oil
The chestnut oil is used more and more in our gastronomy due to its peculiar flavor and qualities.
More than a 60% of polyunsaturated fatty acids, a 20% are monounsaturated fats, and just a 10% of saturated fats. Like olive or sunflower oil, it has good concentrations of vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant.
Most of these fats belong to the Omega 3, 6, and 9 group, which are fats that are beneficial for health. Another benefit of chestnut oil is that it does not have cholesterol. Like the fruit it comes from, if we add the chestnut oil to our daily diet, we will help to prevent cardiovascular diseases and help to fight diseases of an inflammatory type.
It is an oil that can be perfectly used to prepare simple cold recipes (salads, sandwiches, or dressings) even though it is not advisable to fry or heat it at high temperatures since its flavor is quite strong.
Raw chestnut oil can be used topically, since it is a powerful emollient, smoothing, and hydrating element.
You can use it as a base (mixed with essential oils) to make unguents to give massages or make masks.
