BONE CALCIUM is a calcium supplement improved with other ingredients.
Calcium acts as an intracellular mediator, fulfilling a second messenger function, intervening in muscle contraction and is indispensable for coagulation of the blood. It is also involved in the regulation of some kinase enzymes that carry out phosphorylation functions, and carries out some enzymatic functions similar to those of magnesium in phosphate transfer processes. In the human being, it is present in the bones. Calcium intervenes in the formation of plaque in some artheriosclerosis.
But the most emphatic function of calcium is that it is a key component in bones and teeth. When the level of calcium circulating in the blood diminishes, the calcium that corresponds to the bones is deposited into the blood stream to compensate this deficit. In the same way, when the level of calcium in the blood is high, calcium becomes deposited on the bones, favouring their re-structuring and preserving them in good condition, as bones naturally repair themselves from daily wear and tear and accidents such as fractures.
