Weights, regardless of their type, are used in almost every training. Most people think that the only use of weights is to gain muscle mass, and it is true they are very useful to define muscle and lose weight. For this reason they are included in activities like aerobics, yoga or Pilates. There are three types of weights: disc weights, dumbbells and kettlebells.
Discs have a circle form and are put on the bars to carry out a lot of muscle building. There are several types, olympic, semi-professional, homemade, made of iron, and some others very practical with handles to be used without bars.
On the other hand, kettlebells, also known as Russian weights, are elements in the form of a ball with a handle on the top. They can be used for any goal and their weight usually goes from 2 to 28 kilograms. However, dumbbells are usually one whole piece for an independent hand use, but there are several types too: neoprene, metallic or rubber.
